I just interviewd with an entrepreneur today - and you hit the nail on the head -- he wanted to have coffee to "get to know me" We had coffee and I asked him all about himself!! He dosen't know me any better, but, I now know about him! I'm proud to say I think I faked it well, but in the end, he was still a boring nerd who doesn't know how to hold a conversation! I'll stick with my sales guy who is hysterical most of the time......

christopher, i have never heard that saying but i love it! my experience is while the top-students may have the grades, the c students have the charm and drive that makes them wildly successful entrepreneurs. i will choose a risky ride over a dull safe one any day. thanks for the comment!

There is a saying that I am sure is common across a lot of college campuses:

"The A students will become teachers, and the B students will work for the C students."

In this case, the 'C students' are the entrpreneurs.

Aside from this, I think successful entrpreneurs just learn to stick it out and make it by the skin of their teeth. Anyways, isn't successful entrepreneurship about risk? Without risk, there isn't much reward (except in the finance industry of late, where it seems that with an unreasonablly high amount of risk, there for sure is no reward).

You make entrepreneurs sound sexy :) Makes me feel a little less regretful for starting my own business a few years ago. My business partner & I have since disbanded, but yes--that rush of living on the outside is pretty bad in a very good way....

I actually proud myself on being an Entrepreneur enabler. I support their ideas no matter how crazy, challenge them when necessary and happily plow the way to make their journey easier. I love someone who can take an idea and put it into a power play. No matter how many times someone tells an Entrepreneur ‘no’ it only fuels them to get to yes. It’s an amazing thing to witness. If I had a choice to front row tickets to a sold out game or a chair at a table with an Entrepreneur and venture capitalists I would always choose the latter. I’m not looking for any favors, completely know I could be abandoned at any time and picking up pieces to a fallen projects but it never breaks my spirit and I am always better for it.
